Results of past consultations

Listed here are the summary results of past consultations and where applicable, what we decided or changed as a result.

Housing Services

We ran a consultation for council tenants and leaseholders about the future of housing services provided by the Welwyn Hatfield Community Housing Trust.  The consultation asked whether respondents supported a proposal to bring these services back into the council.  Of 138 respondents, 51% supported the proposal, 9% objected to the proposal, 16% stated they had no strong view either way, and 24% did not respond to the question. A report will now be going to the council's Cabinet on 6 December and to the Housing Trust's board the following day for a decision on the future of the housing services.

Draft Local Plan Consultation 2016

The consultation ran from 30 August until 24 October 2016.

The Council invited representations on its Draft Local Plan Proposed Submission document, together with the Policies Map, Sustainability Appraisal, the Habitats Regulations Assessment Report and The Draft Infrastructure Delivery Plan.

Budget Survey 2016/17

Using YouChoose consultation software, we ran an online survey to find out how residents would allocate the council's budget for 2016/17 and offer suggestions where savings could be made and where income can be raised.

From the options given, 71% of participants suggested that income could be raised from the council's commercial portfolio and 66% suggested that efficiencies could be made from shared services. Participants also had the opportunity to provide their own ideas and these will be considered before the final budget is approved. For further details, please visit our Budget and Accounts page

Welwyn Hatfield Local Plan consultation

The consultation ran from 23 January 2015 until 20 March 2015.

Together with the strategic policies set out in the Emerging Core Strategy, matters set out in this consultation will form the basis for the Local Plan. It follows on from the consultation carried out on the Emerging Core Strategy and updates the long term planning strategy for the borough.

Consultation on Welwyn Garden City Town Centre North -

Draft Supplementary Planning Document

Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to our consultation on the draft guidance (Supplementary Planning Document) for future retail investment in part of Welwyn Garden City town centre. This will be critical in encouraging future investment into the town centre for the benefit of all our community.  Over 120 responses were received and we are now considering all the points raised through the consultation and will be amending the guidance where appropriate. The final version of the guidance  is then likely to be adopted by the council at the end of the summer.

My Council Survey (June-Aug 2012)

The 'My Council' perception survey asked residents how they feel about the council. It's a useful way to benchmark their opinion about the different services we provide in the borough.
