Run by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and sponsored by Serco and the University of Hertfordshire, the Civic Awards are the highest accolade bestowed by the council.

Previous Civic Awards Winners:

Last year's winners received a trophy, certificate and cheque for £250 presented by the Mayor for Welwyn Hatfield, and were entered into the Civic Awards Roll of Honour Book for posterity.

Graham Lale - In recognition of the work undertaken for the elderly and less able residents of Welwyn Garden City.

Wayne Bush - The Award is presented in recognition of the work undertaken with the Town Centre Team at events.

Sherrardspark Wood Wardens' Society - Presented by Serco in recognition of 50 years of commitment to protect and promote the wood.

Eponine Laming-Nash - Presented by the University of Hertfordshire in recognition of the work undertaken within the Welwyn Hatfield Borough and as Vice-Chair of the Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council.

Up to five nominations were selected by a community awards panel, including the Serco Environmental Award and the Young Person's Award, sponsored by the University of Hertfordshire
