One week your recycling and compost bins are emptied, the next your rubbish bin.

Your recycling and compost bins should contain acceptable items only. If in doubt, leave it out of your recycling bin or refer to our A-Z of rubbish for what waste goes where.

(Black bin with blue lid)

Recycling should be loose, do not bag

Wash food and drink packaging, flatten cardboard and squash plastic bottles and cans. The more you can fit into your bin, the more we can fit into our lorry. That means less trips and less fuel!
