We manage and preserve a range of trees, woods, parks, allotments and nature reserves in the borough, keeping Welwyn Hatfield lush and green.
Our consultation on Danesbury Management Plan is now closed. We will shortly be processing all submitted comments and these will be available online soon.

We design and plant the borough's flower beds each year. The spring and summer seasons alone total about 60,000 bulbs each, in landscaped areas of Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield.

The council maintains more than 20,000 individual trees, over 30 hectares of tree belt and numerous woodlands in both urban and rural areas across the borough.

We have recently consulted on a revision of our Trees and Woodlands Strategy which forms the basis of the decisions made regarding trees and woodlands within the Borough.

Local Nature Reserves are places of special local interest, from wildlife to geological features.

Last year local volunteers gave over 2,280 days of work to local nature reserves, woodlands and open spaces. In financial terms, this fantastic contribution was worth over £110,000.

Our branch of the National Tree Wardens Scheme has been running for seven years. We have approximately 60 Wardens who regularly help us monitor trees in their neighbourhood.
