A number of properties in the borough use private water supplies, which is a water supply which is not provided by Veolia Water. Most of these supplies are situated in rural parts of the borough, and the source of the supply is generally a well or a borehole, although spring water supplies are not uncommon.

The council has powers to deal with noise that causes distress (Statutory Noise Nuisance) - this is noise that significantly interferes with the enjoyment of your home. It has to be unreasonable and persistent. There is no set level of noise that is considered to be a statutory noise nuisance.
