The Licensing Team carry out regular inspections of premises in the borough that are licensed to keep, breed or sell animals in order to ensure that they comply with the conditions attached to their licence.
Licences are granted to premises which meet standard conditions following an inspection. These generally cover animal welfare and an inspection may also be carried out by a vet. As well as a licence, new premises should also have relevant planning permission from the council before opening.
