Graffiti and fly-posting
Fly-posting and graffiti are illegal, anti-social activities which create a negative impression of an area and can contribute to people's fear of crime.
Please bear in mind that fly-posting and graffiti on private property is the responsibility of the owner to clear-up. Should you be unable to contact the owner, please contact us and our Community and Environment Officers may be able to assist you.
If you would like to report graffiti or fly-posting attached to lampposts, road signs, subways, roundabout railings, traffic lights etc, please contact Hertfordshire Highways at Hertfordshire County Council, as they are responsible for removing graffiti and fly-posting from their property.
Where evidence exists, the council's Community and Environment Officers may be able to issue a fixed penalty notice to or prosecute those responsible for crimes such as fly-posting and graffiti. They can also serve notice on owners/occupiers of land to remove graffiti and fly posting.
