Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is committed to supporting forces personnel and their families, and to helping them to continue to contribute strongly to society.

The council has signed up to a Community Covenant action plan in consultation with the Royal British Legion to support the service community. To find out more visit the Armed Forces Community Covenant page.

The council also gives special dispensation for anyone serving in the armed forces (currently or within the last five years), to be eligible to join the Housing Needs Register without having to demonstrate a local connection to the borough. Support and Advice for Veterans

Support and advice for veterans can be found on the national Armed Forces Covenant website, including how to find support groups and breakfast clubs in the local area. There is also more information about useful contacts for veterans on the NHS website website.
