Neighbourhood Officers
Every Welwyn Hatfield Borough council tenant and leaseholder has a dedicated Neighbourhood Officer.
How Neighbourhood Officers support Tenants
Your Neighbourhood Officer will show you around your home when you first view it, help get your new tenancy started and continue to support you with managing your tenancy.
They are responsible for:
- conducting viewings and signing up new tenants
- carrying out settling in visits for new tenants
- tenancy audits (a survey about you and your household)
- administering tenancy changes (such as succession or joint to sole)
- ending tenancies
- supporting vulnerable tenants
- investigating breaches of tenancies
- estate inspections
They cannot help with:
- repairs
- planned maintenance work
- housing allocations and homelessness
- rent collection or arrears
- tenancy disputes between joint tenants
How Neighbourhood Officers support Leaseholders
The Neighbourhoods Team is responsible for the management of communal areas in our blocks and for maintaining a safe and clean environment in buildings and surrounding grounds.
