Working out Council Tax bands
Council Tax is a charge on residential properties, each property is given a Council Tax band.
Council tax payment bands are worked out based on the value of your property in 1991. There are eight bands ranging from Band A (the lowest) to Band H (the highest).
Council Tax pays for local services provided by:
- Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (us)
- Hertfordshire County Council
- The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire
- Town and parish councils.
We are responsible for the billing, collection and recovery of council tax in the borough. There is one bill for each home. Your bill will be worked out using your Council Tax band and location.
