Planning Considerations for Aviation Safeguarding

Safeguarding Maps are in place for:

• The Brookmans Park civil en-route technical site.
• The entire area of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, which is covered by a NATs Wind Turbine Safeguarding Map.
• London Luton aerodrome which is an officially safeguarded aerodrome.
• London Heathrow aerodrome which is an officially safeguarded aerodrome.
• London Elstree aerodrome which is a non-officially safeguarded aerodrome.

Certain planning applications will be the subject of consultation with the operator of the aerodrome or technical site.
