A Draft Traffic Regulation Order creating powers to enforce electric vehicle charging bays, disabled bays and ensuring vehicles park within marked bay in the advertised car parks in Welwyn Garden City

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council have secured funding to install electric charging bays in WHBC owned car parks in Welwyn Garden City in 2021.

This will be in the following car parks:

Haldens

Hollybush

Moors Walk

Shoplands

Westfield

Woodhall

As part of the work, we will also look to make the existing disabled bays enforceable and powers to ensure vehicles park in a marked bay only in these car parks to reduce obstructive parking.

The draft Order, statement of reasons, public notice and plans can be seen below. The Order was advertised on Wednesday 14th July.

General enquiries relating to the Order should be referred to Matthew McCann, Parking Services Team Leader, Council Offices, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6AE. Tel: 01707 357000. Email: parkingservices@welhat.gov.uk

Objections to the proposals should be made in writing via post to Durk Reyner, Head of Environment, Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, The Campus, Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL8 6AE OR by email at parkingservices@welhat.gov.uk by Friday 6th August 2021,stating the grounds on which they are made.

Any objections received would then be considered at the October 2021 CPPP meeting. Please note, this is the start of a longer term project where more electric vehicle charging provision is being bid on and planned to be installed in due course in more car parks around the Borough.
