Sherrards Ward Parking Consultation

A consultation for parking in Sherrards ward began in October 2022. The ward for the purpose of this consultation was split into Area 1 and Area 2.

Walden and Blakemere Road area (Area 1)

Objections were considered along with the Parking Officer's report and recommendation at Cabinet Planning and Parking Panel on Thursday 9 November 2023.

The panel voted unanimously to approve the recommendation as outlined in the report (the permit zone was agreed with reduced days and hours Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm).

A verge and footway prohibition for The Vineyard permit zone was also approved.

Review Period for Zone A02 (Area 1)

Restrictions started on 1 July 2024.

The feedback stage closed on 31 December 2024.

Next steps (Area 1)

All comments made during the review period will be considered after the review period closes.

Any further modifications to the restrictions that are deemed appropriate, will be communicated to residents via letter and an update displayed on this webpage in early 2025.

Rest of Sherrards (Area 2)

A Public Notice was advertised on Wednesday 24 July 2024, with objections open until Friday 16 August 2024 which set out details of formal proposals.

All comments and objections in relation to roads in Sherrards ward (except Zone A02 - Area 1) have been considered and presented along with Parking Officer report to Cabinet Planning and Parking Panel (CPPP), details of which can be viewed at: 19 November 2024 Cabinet Planning and Parking Panel meeting.

Next steps (Area 2)

Following the CPPP's consideration of the scheme, the proposal was considered and agreed by the Council's Cabinet on Tuesday 7 January 2025. 

The parking restrictions will start on Monday 3 March 2025 (except verge and footway in Greenfield), and a letter is being sent to residents to notify them of the start date. Residents in Zone A18 (Sherrardspark Road, Reddings, Roundwood Drive and Densley Close) can now apply for their permits ready for the start date.
