Sopers Road

Sopers Road Parking Consultation

A consultation for parking in Sopers Road, Cuffley began in late September 2024. Properties in the road will receive a letter via post inviting them to take part in the survey.

As part of the process consideration is given to double yellow lines on junctions to improve junction vision underpinning the Highway Code, as well as verge and footway prohibition to improve the streetscene and access for pedestrians.

The consultation does not extend into other nearby roads such as Station Road or The Meadway, the sole focus being Sopers Road.

Online survey

The survey was open until Sunday 24 November 2024.

Feedback Stage

We are sending a letter to all properties within the road addressed to the Occupier.

The survey overall had 8 out of 15 properties (53%)  participate which met our criteria to progress. We have a policy to progress to this feedback stage when it has passed 25% response rate. The data provided highlighted there was a level of concern over parking causing access issues.

This is a feedback stage where initial ideas are set out, as to how potentially parking restrictions in your area could look like in the future. It is important to note, at this time no decisions have been made.

We strongly encourage you comment on the below before the closing date so that we can consider your view in relation to our parking restrictions ideas.

Single Yellow Line Mon - Sat 8am - 6:30pm

To propose to maintain only 50m of the existing restrictions (outside Sopers Road Long Stay car park)

Double yellow lines

To propose to replace all of the remaining Single Yellow Line and restrict the rest of the road with Double Yellow Lines. It is noted that each business has off street parking, some currently under-utilised.
Loading and unloading of goods can still occur on yellow lines where required whilst loading is ongoing.

How to submit feedback

A feedback form is available online.

The feedback closing date is 7 February 2025.

Next steps

All responses will be considered, and formal proposals will be drafted based on the feedback received. We will send a further letter to properties in the road if we reach that stage to advertise proposals to notify of the opening of the 21‑day formal objection stage.

This will likely be done in late March/April 2025 and further updates will also be available on our website.
