Parking Services Works Programme

We get many requests for parking restrictions and/or improvements. We add these to the Parking Services Investigation List for consideration for a future parking work programme.

Not every request can be considered due to:

• volume of requests from different households
• safety concerns
• major developments that are taking place nearby

If your road/area is not listed you can request it is considered for a future parking consultation.

A new works programme covering 2024-2026 was considered in February 2024: Agenda for Cabinet Planning and Parking Panel on Thursday 15 February 2024.

Current works programme - Updated 28 March 2025

Survey/design stage:

• Hollybush South - Survey period open until 9 February 2025. Survey results being assessed
• Haldens Car Park & Shops Parking Consultation - Survey period open until 9 February 2025. Survey results being assessed

Results/feedback stage:

• Pooleys and Huggins - Feedback period open 27 January 2025 until 23 February 2025
• Sopers Road - Feedback period open until 9 February 2025

Public notice & objections stage:

• Howlands North - Areas including Blackthorn Road, Cole Green Lane, proposals will be advertised 12 March 2025, objection stage open until 3 April 2025
• Peartree exc. Broadwater Crescent area - Refreshed proposals advertised 5 March 2025, objection stage open until 27 March 2025

Start of Restrictions stage:

• Hollybush North - Started Monday 3 March 2025
• Sherrards - Started Monday 3 March 2025
• Parking Consultation for Car Parks - 3 hours free parking for disabled badge holders - Started 1 April 2025
• Hatfield South and East - Starts Monday 12 May 2025
• Parking Consultation - Electric vehicle charging points - Starts Monday 12 May 2025

Review period stage:

• Hatfield Rise - High View development permit zone and parking bays - started 1 July 2024., review will stay open until the whole site has been opened in mid to late 2025.
• Sherrards - A permit zone A02 in Blakemere Road, Walden Road, Walden Place and The Orchard - started 1 July 2024. Review form closed 31 December 2024. Feedback being assessed - further action TBC

Due to be consulted 2024/2026:

• Howlands South - Survey due to start Spring 2025
• Panshanger - Survey due to start Spring 2025
• Welwyn West - Survey due to start late 2025/early 2026

• Kennelwood Lane and Wellfield Road car parks - project now closed. Changes to public hours cannot occur due to development agreements in place.
