Statement of Community Involvement

A Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how the Council will engage with people on planning matters. The SCI describes how the public, businesses, interest groups and individuals can get involved in influencing the local planning policy, the planning application process and neighbourhood planning, and help to shape where we live and work.

The production of a SCI is a legal requirement under planning legislation.

We consulted on a draft Statement of Community Involvement between 16 September and 28 October 2024. The SCI was approved by the Executive Member for Planning on 26 November 2024 following a unanimous vote by councillors at the 19 November Cabinet Parking and Planning Panel (CPPP) meeting.
