Information about parking restrictions on grass verges and footways.
Some grass verges and footways have Verge and Footway Prohibition Orders (VFPOs) which mean you cannot park on them at any time. If a verge has an VFPO there will be a yellow parking sign with 'At any time on verge or footway.' displayed.
We can issue parking fines to vehicles parked on a public verge or footway in VFPO areas.
We cannot issue fines for driving over grass verges. Though if our officers witness someone driving onto a verge to park (even if it does not have a VFPO) we can issue a parking fine.
