Small Grants and Equipment Fund

What can be funded

An application is likely to be funded if it meets the following criteria:

  • Applications must be for between £500 - £5,000.
  • Projects must involve sport and/or physical activity.
  • Projects must benefit the residents of Hatfield.
  • Projects must be delivered within the Hatfield boundary. See the eligible area.  
  • Your project must focus on the fund’s core strategic goal which is to provide sustainable sporting opportunities in Hatfield, and your project must be working towards one or more of the following strategic objectives which include:
    • Creating opportunities for young people to participate in sport.
    • The development of an existing sporting provision in Hatfield.
    • Getting under-represented groups involved in sport in Hatfield. For example; women and girls, disabled people, older adults, those from culturally diverse communities and those living with long term health conditions.
  • In addition to the funds core strategic goal and objectives, the fund can support clubs with the following:
    • Support with the cost-of-living crisis.
    • Community space projects (projects offering a free warm and welcoming space during the autumn/winter which involves an opportunity to participate in physical activity).

Examples of what can be funded:

  • Qualifications for coaches and volunteers.
  • Purchase of equipment or kit.
  • Costs associated with improving the governance of a sports club/organisation.
  • Costs associated with the cost-of-living crisis such as energy-saving measures and membership fees for members impacted by the crisis.
  • Costs associated with the setting up of a community space project - venue hire, volunteer expenses and refreshments for projects that include opportunities to participate in physical activity.

Any organisation who has successfully been awarded funding will not be able to re-apply within the same 12 months.
