Parking Consultation for Kennelwood Lane Car Park

Review period: Parking restrictions started on 1 April 2024 for permit holders only 7am-9pm, and pay and display 7am-5:30pm. 

Parking Services received feedback from 197 people, most were customers of some shops within the town centre, as well as a few business owners. The feedback was in relation to evening parking provision, as some felt the multi storey car park was too far from the shops.

It is not possible to extend the restrictions in the car park as it would conflict with the Development Agreement relating to One Town Centre and the parking provision for the residential properties which were constructed as part of this.

Dog Kennel Lane Car Park is due to come under the scope of consultation in 2025/26, the car park is currently permits only until 6pm, which allows free parking for all after 6pm. The Dog Kennel Lane consultation could lead to the opportunity to amend some restrictions there to assist parking for shoppers.
