Types of Decants

5.1 Decants will generally fall in to one of the following categories:

• Unplanned – emergency temporary
• Unplanned – temporary (non-emergency)
• Unplanned – permanent
• Planned – temporary
• Planned - permanent

5.2 Temporary decant: when a resident is moved out to enable work or redevelopment of the property to be carried out with the intention of returning them to it at the earliest opportunity.

5.3 Permanent decant: when a resident is moved out of their home and there is no intention to return them to it.
