Legislation

8.1 In undertaking its licensing function under the Gambling Act 2005, the Council is also bound by other legislation, including:-

  1. Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1988;
  2. Human Rights Act 1998;
  3. The Equality Act 2010

However, the policy is not intended to duplicate existing legislation and regulatory regimes that already place obligations on employers and operators, including, for example, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
