Get involved with shaping our housing services
Hello! Here at Welwyn Hatfield we are committed to putting our residents at the heart of what we do.
In November 2020 the government released a new white paper, 'The Charter for Social Housing Residents' driven in part by the tragedy at Grenfell Tower in June 2017. The seven strands within the charter set out what every social housing resident should be able to expect.
- To be safe in your home
- To know how your landlord is performing
- To have your complaints dealt with promptly and fairly
- To be treated with respect
- To have your voice heard by your landlord
- To have a good quality home and neighbourhood to live in
- To be supported to take your first step to ownership
With the charter in mind we are currently developing a new Resident Involvement Strategy in partnership with residents and colleagues. Once agreed it will give a detailed explanation of our aims and objectives and how we plan to achieve them. We hope our passion and determination to empower residents to have a real say in how services are designed and delivered will come through in this document.
How you can you get involved
We are committed to putting our residents at the heart of what we do. We presently have a number of different ways you can get involved and help to shape housing services, please click on the links on the right hand side of this page for more information.
Your experience of our service is important to us and we know there may be occasions where we don't get it right first time; this can be used to inform and challenge us. However, none of our groups are a forum to raise individual issues. They are an opportunity to work in partnership with us and other residents to improve services for your flat block/street, your neighbourhood or the whole borough.
