Safeguarding

9.1 Safeguarding means protecting children against all forms of abuse, including sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse and neglect and applies to all young people under 18.

9.2 For all work placements a duty of care applies and a risk assessment of the placement for both health and safety, and safeguarding purposes are required to be undertaken.

9.3 An appropriate level of supervision of young people must be provided at all times in line with this guidance.

9.4 The placement coordinator must notify the school or college if the young person fails to attend their placement within the first hour of their scheduled start time.

9.5 The placement coordinator must notify the school or college immediately of any conduct issues that requires the young person to be removed from their work experience placement and returned to school.
